Jiangsu Television manages six independent channels with Snell & Wilcox digital infrastructure

--

Jiangsu TV, the leading broadcaster along the southern Yangtse River, will manage six independent television channels by expanding its master control transmission system with a set of Snell & Wilcox IQ Modular products.

Mr. Su Qi, Jiangsu Television, said, "Our key challenge is to effectively and efficiently run one central transmission system which controls six independent channels while managing signal inputs with multiple standards. We have found that the quality and reliability of Snell & Wilcox solutions have been clearly demonstrated as the system has proven very easy to monitor and operate. We have been especially pleased that RollCall's powerful functions have enabled us to meet our multiple mission requirements."

Mr. Mark Parlett, Managing Director, Snell & Wilcox Asia Pacific Limited, said, "In a scenario which is becoming increasingly common, Jiangsu TV needs to deliver seamless quality over a diverse network. Jiangsu TV's multi-channel operation system shows many advantages to using Snell & Wilcox equipment within a single infrastructure. The set-up ensures system integrity and reliability while giving peace of mind. As Jiangsu TV moves forward to compete in the increasingly competitive China broadcast market, our modular products will continue to deliver the most flexible and intelligent choices available."

The IQ Modular range offers a wide choice of modules and enclosures, with customisable control interfaces that are designed to support the broadest array of activities while still maintaining ease of use and control. All essential information about any module - its status, setting, menu structure, configuration details and PC window - is held on the card itself, for instant access by the central control system. This system integration allows users to configure video, audio, digital, analog, SD and HD functions all in the same box that takes up just 16 modules per 3RU enclosure.

RollCall is a PC-based application that enables remote control functionality, monitoring of status and error condition as well as gathering and viewing of error and status information reported from all equipment present on the RollCall network.
