Beijing Television Expands Digital Infrastructure With Snell & Wilcox IQ Modular

Beijing Television (BTV), one of China's leading broadcasters with four independently managed television channels, has expanded its digital infrastructure with Snell & Wilcox IQ Modular equipment and RollCall control and monitoring system, as it experiences rapid growth and adds two new channels in response to China's on-going, long-term economic expansion.

With the selection and on-going implementation of the IQ Modular System, BTV also chose a range of Snell & Wilcox's RollCall control and monitoring systems to assist them in achieving their several on-going goals. One key decision criteria for BTV in managing their several current and planned channels was to fulfil their need to rapidly identify faults and access equipment from one or many points - as needed - on a local to global scale, should anything go wrong.

RollCall is the networked monitoring and control system that defines new levels of effective and efficient operation for broadcast systems. The status and adjustment of any amount of equipment, both Snell & Wilcox and other manufacturers, can be easily and rapidly accessed from one, or many points as required on anything from a local to a global scale.

With the packing density of enclosures numbering 16 modules, there will be room to add more cards to the structure as BTV expands, which IQ Modular's unique intelligence can handle without having to take the system off-line.
