ABC Choose Snell & Wilcox

--

SYDNEY, Australia - July 19, 2005 - The Australian Broadcasting Corporation has recently purchased a number of Snell & Wilcox IQDLOG Logo Inserters to provide the station's on-air channel identification watermarks.

The Snell and Wilcox IQCSPI customisable serial port interface allows the logo generators to be controlled via the ABC's playout automation so that special program genre specific logos are brought up for particular programming. A specific logo is brought up for identifying the ABC's early morning "ABC Kids" output for example.

In addition, manual override by presentation suite staff will also be possible using Snell and Wilcox Rollpod custom remote control panels in the presentation suite.

About IQDLOG
IQDLOG is a sophisticated SDI logo inserter which can insert a channel's or a broadcaster's logo directly from a network file. The unit is capable of adding static or animate, full 8-bit, color logos at any point in the active picture region of the SDI stream. The logos or animation sequences can be of any size or length, to a total of 250K pixels. Logos are downloaded over the RollCall network. A simple animation control file allows easy creation and manipulation of the animation parameters.

Mr. Mark Parlett, Managing Director, Snell & Wilcox Asia Pacific Limited, said, "In today's multi-channel, multi-format environment, something as simple as inserting a logo can take up precious time for an engineer. We aim to provide the equipment which makes the process seamless, reliable, and worry-free."
