LMG Shines With Second Snell & Wilcox Kahuna Production Switcher

Leading Presentation Company Relies on Existing Kahuna and a Second, Brand-New System to Bring New Level of Sophistication and Flair to Live Events

--

BURBANK, Calif. - April 4, 2006 - LMG Inc., a leading provider of video, audio, lighting, and presentation support, has built its second video production “truck in a box” engineered around the Snell & Wilcox Kahuna SD/HD production switcher. The multiformat capabilities of LMG's HD-1 and newly completed HD-2 already have been used by LMG to support high-profile presentations by luminaries in numerous fields at corporate events and trade shows across the United States.

"The combination of our HD-1 and HD-2 systems allow us to incorporate every conceivable presentation element into a show and deliver client presentations at the very highest standard," said Les Goldberg, CEO of LMG. "The people we support at major corporate events and product launches have the highest expectations. We have to come through with flying colors, and with flawless operation from our Kahuna-based production systems, we do. Thanks to our Snell & Wilcox production switchers, we've been able to complete the most technologically complex presentations we've ever attempted, and the results have been tremendous."

LMG's HD-1 and HD-2 are fully portable flypack systems that provide all of the capabilities of a mobile truck in easily shipped containers, designed to set up in minutes and provide maximum flexibility in the show environment. At their debut together, the two Kahuna production switchers handled and mixed feeds from HD projectors, HD cameras, SD sources, and multiple computer sources to support celebrity-studded presentations touting the newest and hottest technology offerings.

The Kahuna allows LMG's HD-1 and HD-2 operators to combine HD and SD material, both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios, and play out HD content while recording a Betacam or DigiBeta version for archiving purposes. Snell & Wilcox's proprietary FormatFusion™ technology enables integration of any SD material - handheld camera feeds, graphics, or archive footage - into HD productions without the need for upconversion. As a result, LMG has been able to make a controlled, intelligent transition into HD work and provide its clients with uncompromising image quality during high-profile, high-exposure events.

"Les is a visionary in the world of presentation and staging, but I think even he has been amazed with the spectacular success his company has realized using the Kahuna production switcher," said Snell & Wilcox President Jonathan Goldstein. "LMG's purchase of two systems in less than a year demonstrates the versatility of the system, its ease of use, and the enormous value it provides with its ability to mix all types of formats simultaneously. We've had the same response from operators throughout the broadcast industry, and it’s exciting to see the benefits of the Kahuna evident in the high quality of our clients’ work.”
