Raycom Media Signs Exclusive Supply Agreement With Snell & Wilcox For Production Switchers and Broadcast Infrastructure

Major U.S. TV Station Group Adopts Kahuna SD/HD Production Switcher and IQ Modular as Part of Multi-Year Contract

--

BURBANK, Calif. -- Feb 8, 2007 -- Snell & Wilcox announced today that it has signed a multi-year agreement with Raycom Media to become the exclusive supplier of production switchers and modular infrastructure to the entire station group. With 36 television stations covering more than 10% of U.S. television households, Raycom Media is one of the country's largest broadcasters. This agreement covers Kahuna, the Snell & Wilcox SD/HD multiformat production switcher, and IQ Modular, the company's line of infrastructure products. Raycom stations will use Kahuna to produce local news broadcasts as well as other local programming. The agreement covers the full range of products in these categories manufactured by Snell & Wilcox.

"Snell & Wilcox is a first-rate company with a long track record in our industry, and their infrastructure gear has generated very positive feedback from its users among the stations within our group," said David Folsom, vice president and CTO at Raycom Media. "Beyond being the premiere brand of infrastructure equipment, Snell & Wilcox is also the first supplier to offer a production switcher that works in both the HD and SD worlds seamlessly. Kahuna allows us to mix and match various-definition sources effortlessly as the industry transitions to HD. From our point of view, Snell & Wilcox products deliver the most value for the money of all those we considered."

"We are thrilled to work with the Raycom Media stations group. After their careful and thorough selection process, Raycom's choice of Kahuna is further evidence that it is an affordable, powerful, and easy-to-learn switcher that is a perfect fit for local news in any size market," said Jonathan Goldstein, President of Snell & Wilcox, Inc. "We are also pleased that Raycom has joined the ranks of thousands of other broadcasters in selecting IQ Modular for its stations. IQ Modular is a complete SD and HD solution that will deliver what Raycom is seeking -- a cost-effective, reliable, and trouble-free answer to its infrastructure needs."

Raycom's adoption of Kahuna is the latest in a serious of successes for the switcher. Since its introduction in late 2004, Kahuna has captured double-digit market share and won a number of industry awards, including the Frost & Sullivan award for Worldwide Technology Leadership in Production Switchers.

"We attribute Kahuna's success to a range of factors. We have received nothing but rave reviews from Technical Directors. They like the familiar control panel layout and keystroke patterns that make learning to operate Kahuna a very simple and quick process. Engineers hone in on its SD/HD capabilities, its fewer points of potential failure relative to competitive products, and the fact that Kahuna has just one frame of delay throughout the switcher. But it is really the overall power and flexibility of Kahuna that consistently wins people over," said Goldstein.

Raycom, an employee-owned company, is one of the nation's largest broadcasters and currently owns and/or operates 35 television stations in 17 states. Raycom stations cover more than 10.2 % of U.S. television households and employ 3500 individuals in full and part-time positions. In addition to television stations, Raycom owns Raycom Sports (a marketing, production, and events management and distribution company in Charlotte, N.C.), Raycom Post (a post production facility in Burbank, Calif.), Broadview Media (a post production/telecommunications company based in Montgomery, Ala), and CableVantage (a cable advertising sales group based in Columbia, S.C.).
