IQ Modular From Snell & Wilcox Provides Complete Digital Infrastructure for Turner's New Buenos Aires Operation

Broadcast Infrastructure Platform Provides Comprehensive Signal Processing Solution for Turner's 12 Latin American Network Feeds

--

RollCall Control and Monitoring Software Suite Enables Monitoring and System Management Both at Facility and Remotely From Atlanta Headquarters

HAMPSHIRE, U.K. -- Feb. 20, 2007 -- Snell & Wilcox today announced that its IQ Modular broadcast infrastructure platform has been deployed throughout a new Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.) origination facility in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where it will be used by Turner to support all broadcast video distribution operations, including playout, editing, ingest, and live-feed management, for 12 Latin America network feeds. The deployment also includes the Snell & Wilcox RollCall control and monitoring software suite, which provides complete management of the facility's entire infrastructure.

"The equipment and processes established in our facility are highly automated, and therefore we are extremely careful about any equipment we install," said Diego Tanoira. "The ability to control and monitor equipment is vital to our operations, and the Snell & Wilcox infrastructure products give us that requisite functionality."

Turner Buenos Aires has deployed a wide variety of IQ Modular products including distribution amplifiers, multiplexers, and frame synchronizers. All of this equipment is linked intelligently through the RollCall control and monitoring system, which gives engineers at the new facility a simple means of managing and controlling all of the installed IQ Modular cards for all 11 networks from a single workstation. A Snell & Wilcox RollView interface complements RollCall, providing engineers with a visual overview of system alarms.

Significantly, RollCall also enables the entire facility in Buenos Aires to be monitored remotely from Turner's headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.

Snell & Wilcox's IQ Modular infrastructure system provides more than 300 intelligent component building blocks with which to construct any kind of broadcast facility. More information about the IQ Modular range and other Snell & Wilcox products is available online at www.snellwilcox.com.
