Snell & Wilcox Simplifies Transition to DTV Quality at NAB 2003
In a digital world, pristine image quality is not a luxury.
Las Vegas, Nevada, NAB 2003, Booth C2860 --
Snell & Wilcox marks its 30th anniversary in television this year. With more than 18 of those thirty years dedicated to the development of HDTV technology, the company offers HD solutions in every area - from program creation to transmission.
Highlighted among these are "DEFTplus". This enhanced version of Emmy-winning DEFT technology solves 3:2 pulldown and SD/HD program integration problems.
A new "MPEG Mastering System" will be demonstrated which adds metadata while optimizing content, transforming it into a valuable asset.
"Ukon" is a universal format conversion platform designed for use in broadcast, post and production where pictures need to be converted in any direction between SD and HD environments.
"UpCaster" is a compact solution specifically designed to enable U.S. broadcasters to get a high quality DTV picture on air at an economic price point. It's also suitable for production needs.
The "HD3060" is a 3M/E HD switcher designed for high performance live production.
And finally, the Snell & Wilcox switcher range has been expanded with the new SD "SwitchPack" series, which includes three powerful, ultra-compact switchers designed for live broadcast and post-production environments.
